This home owner had a charming beach cottage, a collection of vintage pieces, a love of both the mid-century modern and coastal chic vibes, and two active boys. Our challenge was to create a design plan that honored all of these factors. We came up with a warm, modern, beachy space for this family that highlighted their vintage collection. Some of our favorite design aspects in this project are the master bedroom wall which we covered in fence boards from the 1940’s, a backpack holder & bench (not pictured) we designed using the same salvaged fence boards, a set of vintage locker baskets and hooks for the boys’ sports equipment, a lucite mid-century swag light rescued from a home demo, and two 1930’s crystal heirloom lamps that we paired with modern shades. These great vintage and salvaged items were combined with a few pieces of custom furniture, a variety of designer fabrics, and an assortment of frugal finds. This was a fun project for us and the homeowners love their space!
